This webinar explains how you can use the Internet Routing Registry (IRR) and Routing Policy Specification Language (RPSL) to describe routing intentions. The IRR is used as a verification mechanism for route origination and is widely deployed to prevent accidental or intentional routing disturbances.

Pre-requisites

  • Basic understanding of the Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR)
  • Basic experience in creating and updating objects in the RIPE Database

Goals

  • Understand the importance of the Internet Routing Registry (IRR) to improve global routing security
  • Identify the RIPE Database objects that play a role in the IRR (route and route6 objects)

  • Automate the creation of filters based on the information in the IRR, using appropriate tools
