This document specifies the terms for registration and participation in a RIPE NCC Learning Event (hereinafter: Terms and Conditions).
In these Terms and Conditions, the following shall be understood to have the following meanings assigned to them below.
2.1 By registering to attend a Learning Event, the Registrant confirms they have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2.2 These Terms and Conditions may be subject to amendments and will be valid after the RIPE NCC has informed the Registrant about these amendments. By participating in a Learning Event after any changes are made to these Terms and Conditions for which the Registrant has been informed, the Registrant confirms they have read, understood and agree to be bound by these amendments.
3.1. The Registrant shall register for the Learning Event via the registration form on the ripe.net website.
3.2 After registration, the Registrant will receive an email confirming their participation. By receiving this confirmation, the Registrant will be entitled to participate in the Learning Event.
3.3. The RIPE NCC will include all details necessary for participation at the Learning Event in the confirmation email. In case of a Webinar, the link to join the Learning Event will also be included.
3.4 In case of a Training Course, the Registrant will be responsible for their own transport, accommodation and any other necessary travel requirements for attending it. The RIPE NCC will provide Registrants with lunch and refreshments during the coffee breaks.
3.5 The Registrant is required to bring a laptop to attend the Learning Event, as it might be necessary for the purposes of the Learning Event to do activities, labs, and/or quizzes.
3.6 In case the Registrant is not able to attend the Learning Event, the Registrant will cancel their registration as indicated in the confirmation email as soon as possible and no later than three days before the Learning Event.
4.1 The RIPE NCC is processing the personal data it collects in accordance with the applicable Dutch data protection law and as described in the RIPE NCC Privacy Statement.
4.2 By registering for a Learning Event, the Registrant confirms their agreement with the RIPE NCC Privacy Statement.
4.2 To participate in a Learning Event the RIPE NCC will use the Registrant’s contact details to communicate to the Registrant all relevant information and/or updates relating to the Learning Event they registered for.
4.3 The RIPE NCC may also use the Registrant’s contact information to send announcements on new events relating to its community, learning and development activities or other news relevant to its activities. If the Registrant does not want to receive this information anymore, they can unsubscribe via the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email (where available) or by sending an email to [email protected]
4.4 The RIPE NCC may engage third-party service providers to assist in the facilitation of a Learning Event. If for this purpose, it is required that the Registrant’s personal data is shared with them, the RIPE NCC undertakes to engage with third parties that offer equivalent levels of security and protection and to make any appropriate contractual and organisational arrangements so that the data shared is limited to that required for the respective purpose and is not processed for longer than necessary.
4.5 The RIPE NCC records the Webinars and may place the recording on ripe.net. The Registrant’s name and any questions they raised during the Webinar will be part of the recording. The Registrant allows the RIPE NCC to use and make publicly available the Webinar’s recording where the Registrant may be included.
4.6 The RIPE NCC may collect and use any Learning Event-related data to publish anonymised reports on the Learning Event’s attendance, remote participation, providing feedback, etc.
5.1 The Registrant indemnifies the RIPE NCC for any third-party claims filed against the RIPE NCC in relation to the registration or participation at the Learning Event or for any obligation arising out of these Terms and Conditions.
5.2 The RIPE NCC excludes all liability for any direct or indirect damages, including damages to the Registrant, Registrant’s business, loss of profit, damages to third parties, personal injury or damages to property, except in cases involving willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the RIPE NCC.
5.3 The RIPE NCC shall not be liable for damages because of a failure to meet any obligation under these Terms and Conditions if such a failure is due to circumstances for which the RIPE NCC is not considered accountable by law, contract or trade custom. The RIPE NCC cannot be held responsible for a Learning Event not being available in certain countries or to certain nationalities or certain individuals due to international restrictions or sanctions.
5.4 The RIPE NCC may cancel the Learning Event due to unforeseen reasons beyond the control of the RIPE NCC. In this case, the RIPE NCC shall not be liable for any damages or compensation of expenses incurred in relation to the Registrant’s participation in the Learning Event.
5.5 The RIPE NCC shall, in any event, not be accountable for failures to perform resulting from force majeure, including but not limited to unusual weather conditions and earthquakes, epidemics, terrorist attacks, governmental actions or measures and strikes.
5.6 In case the use of a third-party tool is required during the Learning Event for activities, or quiz purposes, the RIPE NCC shall not be held responsible and/or liable for damages due to the Registrant’s use of this third-party tool or its improper functioning.
6.1 The RIPE Code of Conduct applies to the Learning Events. The Registrant acknowledges, understands and agrees that Learning Events are attended by people with different experiences, backgrounds and views. It is expected that ideas will be exchanged in a respectful manner and that everyone involved, including the Registrant, will demonstrate tolerance and respect to everyone involved with and participating in the Learning Event at all times. If the Registrant fails to act accordingly, the RIPE NCC reserves the right to remove the Registrant from the Learning Event, whether it is a Training Course or a Webinar.
6.2 The RIPE NCC's intellectual property may only be used, reproduced and made available in accordance with the RIPE NCC Copyright Statement.
6.3 The RIPE NCC Privacy Statement and the Copyright Statement, which may be revised and updated from time to time, form an integral part of these Terms and Conditions.
6.4 If any provision contained in the Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid by a court of law, all other provisions of these Terms and Conditions will continue to be in effect and enforceable.
7.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be exclusively governed by the laws of the Netherlands. The competent court in Amsterdam shall have exclusive jurisdiction with regard to disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions.
